Clinical reasoning is a key skill for a health care practitioner how sees patients. It doesn’t matter how great you are at manual therapy or strength and conditioning or manipulation, if you cannot identify the problem and figure out what to do about it, then those skills may not help or may make things worse.
Darcy is a partner in the Modern MSK brand for KCS in both Alberta and BC.
Darcy graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2002 and received his Master of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Alberta in 2006. In 2009, he received his Fellowship with the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) designation and has a Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. Darcy has also earned his certification in Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) through the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Pain (iStop) and his Acupuncture certification through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Darcy has completed his Diagnostic Imaging certification and is able to order X-ray, MRI and Ultrasounds. Darcy completed his transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) in October of 2016. Darcy is actively involved in mentoring students who are completing extensive postgraduate education in the area of Orthopaedic manual therapy as well as is a lead instructor for the Modern MSK spinal management courses in Alberta and BC. Darcy has held the position of Vice President, President, and Past President of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (CAMPT), a member organization responsible for monitoring, advanced orthopaedic education training programs in Canada to ensure they meet the standards of the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physiotherapists (IFOMPT). Darcy is also an Affiliated Clinical Educator with the University of Alberta Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine.
