Dizziness is a common and growing symptom of concern in the population of patients treated by physiotherapists. There are many different causes of dizziness and misdiagnosis can not only lead to barriers to proper treatment, but endanger a patient by ignoring a serious health concern. Sue Reid is a world-wide leader in research, education, diagnosis and treatment of Cervicogenic Dizziness. Unit 1: Dizziness. Understand the different types and causes of dizziness and which we can treat as physical therapists. Learn to identify cervicogenic dizziness. How to interview a person with dizziness and neck pain.

Unit 2: Physical assessment (upper cervical spine) to identify a cervical component.

Unit 3: Optional other assessments of cervical spine in a patient with dizziness.

Unit 4: Treatment of patients with cervicogenic dizziness with manual therapy: Mulligan SNAGS and Maitland mobilisation.

Unit 5: Overall management of patients with cervicogenic dizziness

Unit 6: Differential diagnosis (part1)

Unit 8: Post -concussion syndrome

Dr Sue Reid BApppSc(Phty) GradDipManip(Phty) MMedSc(Phty) BPharm

Dr Sue Reid is a senior lecturer in musculoskeletal physiotherapy at the Australian Catholic University in Sydney.  She has been a recognised manipulative physiotherapist (Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist) since 1987, a Certified Mulligan Practitioner since 2010 and was made an Honorary member of the Mulligan Concept Teachers’ Association in 2014.

Dr Reid’s clinical interests are treating neck pain, dizziness, headaches, and concussion.

She has completed her research masters and PhD on the identification and treatment of cervicogenic dizziness and pain.  She has also published on neurodynamic testing of the upper limb and validating Dr Goniometer for forearm movement.  Dr Reid has published in international journals, written book chapters, presented at many international conferences, webinars and workshops.

Current research projects include musculoskeletal pain related to usage of mobile device usage, and concussion prevention and treatment.
