Course Description
New practice opportunities are currently emerging for Physiotherapists with the expansion of existing surgical triage pathway programs and the emergence of Advanced Practice Physiotherapists in Family Health Teams. This distance-learning program has been developed to prepare you to take on these evolving practice roles that may include the selection of patients appropriate for medical diagnostic imaging. This program provides over 3 contact hours of self-paced learning through 10 comprehensive audio-visual modules.
A continuous intake allows you to begin the program at any time. You have ten full weeks of access and a downloadable 190 page handout to keep as a reference tool.
Participants will appreciate benefits and limitations of conventional radiographs and advanced imaging. Physiotherapy practice integration of imaging is emphasized. A certificate of completion is provided on completion of a knowledge appreciation quiz.
Pre-Requisites
Participants do not require prior experience in ordering medical imaging. As all program content is delivered on-line, reliable access to Internet services should be secured.
