Modern MSK – Manipulation Masterclass has been developed for you!

This program meets requests from registered Physiotherapists who currently perform spinal manipulation and wish to broaden their choices and improve their skill set. Here is your opportunity to truly master the skill of spinal manipulation and broaden your scope of techniques beyond the basic rostering skills. Improve your skills, your confidence and your outcomes.

This hybrid course is delivered through:
• A multi-unit online preparatory program that you take at your own pace.
• A 2 – day intensive skills lab focusing on refining psycho-motor skills

Standard manipulation techniques will be reviewed with the bulk of the course focused on patient specific alternative approaches to spinal manipulation. The majority of the program will be spent on manipulation skill acquisition using a fast-paced “boot-camp” approach that will rapidly build your skills and confidence.

A strong focus is placed on techniques that ensure patient comfort and safety while delivering measurable clinical gains in symptom control and function.

We will demonstrate and practice techniques that were not covered in your entry to rostering courses for all spinal regions.

Prerequisites:
Participants must be currently rostered for and using SMT in clinical practice. Participants will be practicing on each other and as such must be safe and willing to fully participate in the program. Dress for a lab course with loose-fitting clothing.

Instructors
Rob Werstine
Rob has a Graduate Diploma of Manipulative Therapy from Canada, a Masters of Science from Western University and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the USA. He is a former Chair of and now an instructor in the Orthopaedic Division and a past President of CPA. Rob helped to develop the Clinical Masters of Manipulation at Western University and has extensive experience in teaching spinal manipulation to all levels of clinicians.

Jack Miller
Jack has a Graduate Diploma of Manipulative Therapy from New Zealand, a Master of Clinical Science in Manipulative Therapy from Western University and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the USA. He has taught spinal manipulation internationally for over 20 years and is a former President of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physical Therapy and the CPA’s Orthopedic Division Executive.
