With an aging population osteoarthritis is a growing cause of mobility functional impairment.
Delivered by Key Clinical Skills in multiple Canadian and international venues as a hybrid mixed methods hybrid program of learning. The didactic program is delivered online with participants working online at their own pace. The dictated PowerPoint presentations are supported by videos, web resources, quick reference cheat sheets and a 300-page downloadable handout. The in-class skills development program is delivered in one day with a focus on examination and evidence-based manual therapy interventions for both hip and knee mobility impairments.
This eight-part, online program delivers:
- The clinical, imaging and laboratory criteria for the diagnosis of hip OA
- The medical and surgical options for managing hip OA
- The Arthritis Self Treatment Exercise Program A-STEP
- Resources including videos, external links and patient handouts
The one-day, in class program delivers:
- Screening for medical masqueraders of hip and knee pain
- Detailed examination of the hip and knee for intra-articular pathology
- Clinical practice guidelines for identification of hip and knee osteoarthritis
- Safe and effective manual therapy interventions to address mobility impairments
PREREQUISITES:
This course is open to Registered Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy Residents.

Rob and Jack are the co-directors of KCS and Fellows of the Canadian Academy of manipulative Physical Therapists.
