Advanced Practice Certification

With an aging population, increasing costs and demands, new models of health care delivery are being introduced in Canada. Advanced Practice Physiotherapist positions are currently established both internationally and in several Canadian Provinces with consistently positive outcomes for patient safety, clinical effectiveness and cost effectiveness. These roles are expected to expand into primary care settings as well as serving in both medical and surgical triage positions in a variety of practice settings.

The Advanced Practice Certification delivers a blended-learning model of on-line and a blended online/in-class learning environments that reduces participants’ time away from home and work while allowing you to work at your own pace. The in-class course will be delivered in both Western and Eastern Canadian locations to reduce travel.

Advanced standing is provided to individuals who have taken any of these KCS programs as stand-alone courses as well as graduates of the University of Alberta Medical Imaging Rehab 570.
